Biographical / Historical

The Law School's Alumni have been active since the 1940s. Former law professor, William F. Starr (1935-1962), published a newsletter for the Alumni Association known as the News Bulletin from January 1944-February 1960. The News Bulletin changed its name to the The Starr Report in April 1961 and published until the Summer of 1990. It was published jointly by the Student Bar Association and the Alumni Association. In 1968 The Starr Report divided. The name Starr Report stayed with the Alumni Association and the student newspaper was named the Legal Realist.

Alumni also sponsored gatherings and events and from 1965 until 1999, sponsored a continuing legal education initiative, The Annual Survey of Connecticut Law designed to provide lawyers with updates on the important changes in the legal field over a particular year (see Series III).
